Hello this is Jerry Jones I would like to take a few moments of your time and talk to you. As you know in 2002 I had the honor of being elected your new sheriff. Seems like only yesterday but it was twenty years ago. I was given the chance to do something many people will never have. I was young and inexperienced. I did not understand what a sheriff should be. I thought when you were elected the new sheriff by the people of the county I would automatically be given respect and loyalty by those who were now my deputies. I made the mistake of seeking guidance from others, when it was my job to show them guidance. I have learned. I lost that election in 2006 due to the mistakes i made and that falls squarely on me, but I have learned. As you know I was then appointed your new sheriff due to the mistakes sheriff Green made. This time I did not seek the guidance of others, this time I am the sheriff. For three years I instituted some of the best policy’s this sheriff’s office has ever had, because I had learned. In 2014 I ran to continue being your sheriff, and once again you hesitated, but I understood your feelings. I come to you again to tell you I have learned, if you have faith in me I will not let you down. I am ready to be the sheriff you deserve. Thank you for your time.
